Bit Space

There are many ways to talk about the space or place or environment that is made up of computers, large digital storage devices, routers, satellites, undersea cables and so on. The use of the term bit, to refer to the smallest unit with which a computer can work is to contrast it to atom space, i.e. the physical world which is so familiar to us. Even using the metaphor of space is worth mulling. So much of how we think about computing and related technologies depends heavily on familiar, physical stuff we know about.
